AS9100 Supplier Terms & Conditions Agreement

Updated: August 1, 2023

As a supplier to Helander Metal Spinning Company (“HMS Co.”), it is understood that your organization agrees to meet the following AS9100 requirements in addition to HMS Co.’s General Terms and Conditions Agreement. These AS9100 requirements are applicable whenever HMS Co. Purchase Orders specifies an aerospace application/job or contains some similar aerospace/AS9100 reference. These requirements are, therefore, to be considered as terms and conditions to all aerospace purchases.

  1. Quality Management System (“QMS”): Helander Metal Spinning Company reserves the right to review QMS. Standard AS9100 QMS requirements include:
    1. Suppliers providing special processing must maintain a system for validating processes similar to that of a Nadcap program, or other system as required by this Purchase Order.
    2. Customer directed sources must operate in accordance with approved specifications and standards as dictated and controlled by the customer.
    3. Suppliers initially approved for use via ISO 9011/AS9100 certification and/or Nadcap accreditation must notify our organization of any changes to that certification.
    4. Suppliers providing Nadcap accredited services must provide current documentation of these services and shall notify Helander Metal Spinning Company of accreditation changes such as process, scope and revision. Suppliers shall ensure qualified personnel performing Nadcap operations complete periodic tests for vision acuity and other requirements, as applicable.
    5. Suppliers providing calibration services must be certified to ISO 17025 (or equivalent). All calibration certificates must identify standards used and be traceable to NIST (National Institute of Standards Technology).
  2. Control of Suppliers’ Sub‐Tier(s): HMS Co. does not allow its suppliers to subcontract any product or process to a sub-tier supplier without prior written consent from Helander Metal Spinning Company. If a subcontractor is required, notification must be provided to HMS Co. in writing, stating the service to be provided and subcontractor(s) to be used.
  3. Approved Special Process Sources: Suppliers performing special processes must be Nadcap accredited. If required on the Purchase Order, suppliers must use HMS Co.’s customer-approved special process sources.
  4. Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD): Supplier shall maintain a FOD prevention Program that includes:
    1. The review of manufacturing process to identify and eliminate FOD entrapment areas.
    2. Ensure work is accomplished in a manner to prevent FOD in deliverable items and work areas are maintained in a manner sufficient to preclude the risk of FOD incidents.
    3. Investigate each FOD incident and ensure elimination of the root cause.
