Combustion Chamber
A combustion chamber on a rocket is a component where fuel and oxidizer are mixed and ignite to produce high-pressure, high-temperature gasses that are expelled through a nozzle to generate
Nozzle Liner
A nozzle liner on a rocket is a component that lines the interior of the rocket nozzle, which is the part of the engine that directs the flow of hot gasses produced in the combustion chamber. It
Nozzle Extensions or Ducts
Nozzle extensions or ducts serve to further expand and direct the exhaust gasses after they leave the combustion chamber, enhancing the engine’s performance. By extending the nozzle length, the
Quality Testing
Parts designed for use in aerospace and defense applications must meet stringent requirements & regulations to ensure their quality and safety. Durability and reliability are imperative, as these components must operate at peak function in extremely harsh environments. Helander Metal Spinning Company is ISO9001 & AS9100 certified and Nadcap Welding accredited, guaranteeing adherence to aerospace and defense standards and guidelines.
In addition to Helander Metal Spinning’s certified and accredited Quality Management System, we offer a variety of specialized testing and inspection methods. Our in-house quality team is able to provide up to a 7x magnification visual inspection with 3D laser scanning. Through our Trusted-Partner Services, we offer nondestructive testing methods, such as Liquid Penetrant and Radiograph.
To avoid failure and false results, parts must be thoroughly cleaned to remove all smears, debris, etc. prior to inspection. In many instances, metal polishing is advantageous to ensure that surface imperfections are removed for the most accurate read of the part’s surface. In addition to ideal surface preparation for testing, metal polishing also establishes a smooth base for painting or coating.
